The Tangent Premiere Track from New Album
The Tangent have premiered an exlusive track from their much anticipated new album Le Sacre Du Travail here on Prog. Evening TV is taken from Andy Tillson’s ambitious forthcoming concept work (a first ever for The Tangent), intriguingly subtitled ‘An Electric Sinfonia’.
Says Tillison of the new song: ”Evening TV is the finalé to Le Sacre Du Travail a concept album that follows a typical working day. Out of the whole album, this piece is perhaps the most “Typical Tangent” piece – less orchestral than the other pieces on the album. It’s a kind of “treat” – in the same way that evening television is in itself a supposed reward for our hard work during the day. The radio edit that is released here is just a part of a much more complex piece. To put it into historical perspective, if the album was The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway – this track would be Counting Out Time. But It isn’t. And It Isn’t!”
The highly orchestral piece of work, inspired by Stravinsky’s The Rite Of Spring sees Tillison working with a stellar cast of musicians from the prog world including Gavin Harrison, Jakko Jakszyk, Theo Travis, Jonas Reingold and David Longdon amongst others.
Le Sacre Du Travail will be released through InsideOut Music on June 24. You can pre-order a limited edition CD via the InsideOut Music webshop here.
