The Reasoning And Touchstone To Perform Cancer Fundraiser…
The inaugural Trinity tour – a triple-headliner featuring Magenta, Touchstone and The Reasoning – has been postponed as a result of Magenta vocalist Christina Booth’s cancer fight. But those who have bought tickets are being offered a consolation fundraising event, and the original shows will be rescheduled once her treatment is completed.
Booth revealed last month that she’d been diagnosed with breast cancer, forcing Magenta to call off a number of appearances in support of latest album The Twenty Seven Club.
Trinity shows had been planned for London’s Islington Assembly on Saturday, May 17 next year, and Leamington Spa’s Assembly on Sunday, May 18.
In a statement The Reasoning explain: “After much consideration it was decided that, rather than seeking to alter the intended line-up, it would be fair – and, more importantly, respectful – to postpone the shows until a later date.
“The shows will still take place at the same venues, and as soon as Christina is fit and well we will announce the revised dates.”
People who have purchased tickets for either show are invited to the Leamington venue on May 18 for an all-day event featuring The Reasoning and Touchstone, with all proceeds to be donated to cancer charities.
The statement continues: “Chris Lynch, the owner of Leamington Assembly, is very kindly giving us the bar profits from the show, while The Reasoning and Touchstone will waive their fees. All monies from ticket sales for the event will also go towards the cause.
“Additional bands will be added to the bill very soon, and extra events around the main show are being planned, to bring you a full day’s musical experience.
“We promise to deliver a day to remember and to raise some serious awareness and cash for something very important.”
Prog was in place as a proud sponsor of the Trinity tour, and we remain on board to support the fundraising event.
