Solstice And IO Earth Gear Up For Saturday’s London Show
Solstice and IOEarth will be playing together in London on Saturday, June 30.
The gig takes place at The Underworld in Camden, with tickets available on the night priced at a mere £12.
“We’re currently working on a concept album in collaboration with Marvel Comics artist Barry Kitson. And we will be previewing one tune on Saturday,” says Solstice guitarist Andy Glass about what fans can expect to hear. “There will also be a lot of material from our debut, Silent Dance and Spirit albums.”
“It’s hard to choose a set,” admits IOEarth guitarist Dave Cureton. “We have a lot of songs that are fan favourites from our self-titled, debut album, and we have to play these. Songs like Harmonix and Home, for instance. But, we will also be performing a selection of material from our new album Moments. So, it’s something old, something new.”
Solstice handpicked IOEarth to play with them, as Glass explains:
“Last time we did a gig in Central London people were telling us about this great new band called IOEarth. I checked the band out, got right onto them about playing together, and.here we go!”
Cureton sees this very much as a value for money night of prog.
“This is a co-headline show. It promises to be a fantastic evening of great music, with each of us playing a really good length set.”
The two bands also have other gigs confirmed, albeit not together.
You can see Solstice at Bilston Robin 2 on July 15, with Credo and Grey Lady Down.
IOEarth have three shows in November, with The Tangent: Kingston Peel 2, Rotherham Wesley Centre 3, Bilston Robin 2 4.
