Rovo/System 7 Video Launches At Second Attempt
Gong icon Steve Hillage has released a video for his System 7 collaboration with Rovo at the second attempt. View the Hinotori promo below.
The track comes from their album Phoenix Rising, due for release on September 23, of which Hillage previously told Prog Magazine: “This project has given me an amazing opportunity to combine my work as a rock lead guitarist and a techno musical producer. I’m very happy about it.”
The video first appeared on Friday but was pulled soon afterwards. Hillage explains: “It was taken down in connection with the use of original Hinotori images from the Manga animation pioneer Osamu Tezuka, who has been a huge influence on the Phoenix Rising project.
“Tezuka Productions, the Japanese company that manages the Tezuka creative legacy, demanded a change in the precise wording of the copyright notice after the end of the video. This has now been resolved.
“Our Japanese video production company wish to apologise for the temporary YouTube removal.”
System 7 and Rovo will appear together at the Ritz, Manchester, on March 7, and at London’s Shepherds Bush Empire on March 8. Each show will feature a 30-minute Rovo set, a 30-minute System 7 set followed by a 75-minute collaborative set.
