Rick Wakeman, Roger Dean Present Intimate Charity Show
Rick Wakeman and Roger Dean will present an intimate chat evening for just 50 ticket-buyers at a boutique venue on November 3.
The celebrated keyboardist and artist will discuss their careers at the Trading Boundaries listed coaching inn in East Sussex.
And Dean, who’s displayed his work in the venue for the past three years, will contribute a percentage of sales towards research into Alzheimer’s disease.
Trading Boundaries boss Michael Clifford says: “Roger prefers our quirky approach to sterile art galleries. We’re now his only authorised retailer in the UK – we offer a buying opportunity that many people were probably not even aware was possible.
“We’ve managed to put together a very special evening to launch Roger’s latest exhibition. Rick has agreed to join us, and the idea is for them to talk about their professional lives together, mixed with Rick playing some piano.”
The exhibition opens the following day, November 4, and includes a performance by Focus, at which Dean will display the artwork he created for the band’s new album X.
Clifford explains: “Two years ago we introduced Roger to Thijs van Leer and the meeting results in Roger being commission for the artwork. The original painting will be debuted here.”
It’s a rare opportunity for collectors to purchase original Dean work – he’s often reluctant to part with his paintings. Limited-edition prints will also be available.
Just 50 tickets are on sale for the Wakeman and Dean evening. Tickets cost £75 and include canapés, wine and beer. Find out more at www.tradingboundaries.com.
