Prog/House Of Progression Present Haken Live At The Bordelrine
Haken are to play a special show at The Borderline in London on Sunday, July 1. Tickets will cost £12 on the door.
The gig is sponsored by Prog, and guitarist/keyboard player Richard Henshall explains what will make this a landmark occasion.
“We’ll be playing our current album ,Visions, in its entirety for the first time, plus a few extra surprises. This is something we intended to do since we wrote the album, but just haven’t had the opportunity to do it, until now.
“The songs all have reoccurring themes, and flow together to form one larger piece of work. In a live context it should really come across well. There are a couple of tracks from the album which we’ve yet to play onstage, so we’re extremely excited to be doing these finally, yet also a little anxious in equal measure.”
This is the London band’s first UK show since March, but Henshall reveals more dates are being lined up over here.
“Recently, we’ve been playing in countries like Germany and Holland, discovering that a lot of people in that part of Europe have a great appreciation for our music. We’ve also noticed that our fan base in the UK is rapidly growing, so we’ll be arranging some more shows here in the near future.”
Haken are currently working on material for their third album, which they aim to have out early in 2013.
“We have about three songs fully completed, although none of those tracks are ready to play live yet. But if we get our arses into gear, we may be able to play some of our new material when we do two dates in Holland and one in Belgium with Headspace, during early September.”
