PROG LOG #8. Our Week In Prog
Much of this had to do with the fact that it was the Ed’s birthday on Wednesday, which acted as a timely interruption to work proceedings, although Jo Prog had been on a mammoth prog prop buying spree, the results of which you will see shortly. And Rus was off overseeing a rather interesting photoshoot with two leading prog bands the results of which you will get to see in Prog 29.
Gigwise there was nada for the editorial team, although Alex Lynham found time to catch Yeti Lane up in Manchester, whilst Sarah W got to play around with all manner of Haribo-based puns whilst she waited to see Tangerine Dream at Shepherd’s Bush Empire last night.
The Ed’s birthday passed in a relatively sober fashion on the Wednesday, with a few quiet drinks at the office local, joined by Rachel from The Reasoning. However he certainly made up for things on the Friday night when he, Rus, Touchstone, Lynne from Saint Jude, various Prog, Metal Hammer and Classic Rock scribes and a whole gang of rabble-rousers immersed themselves in the delights that can be found within the confines of Soho’s notorious rock haunt the Crobar. Indeed everything was going swimmingly until Rus decided to show everyone how he appropriated a Wishbone Ash ringtone to the Ed’s number on his mobile…
…at which point the Editor’s eyes glazed over and within minutes he was sound asleep. Or at least that’s what he’s saying happened!!
