Jethro Tull Reveal Thick As A Brick Anniversary Edition
Jethro Tull will release their 40th anniversary edition of Thick As A Brick on November 5, starring a new 5.1 stereo mix by Porcupine Tree mainman Steven Wilson.
The package will also include a DVD carrying DTS and Dolby Digital 5.1 surround mixes and a 1972 flat-transfer mix. The celebrated newspaper is reprinted in a new format, and there’s a 104-page hardback book containing rare photos, mementoes and tour anecdotes.
An audiophile vinyl edition comes complete with the remixed album on one disc and Ian Anderson’s sequel Thick As A Brick 2 on another, plus a 72-page book, all contained in a slipcase.
Mainman Anderson, who released TAAB2 under his own name rather than the band’s, recently admitted there was no firm decision on whether or when to resurrect the band.
He’s currently touring a show in which he performs both albums in full – during which Newsnight presenter and Progressive Music Awards host Gavin Esler appears as a frogman – and plans to continue the project throughout 2013.
