Jack Arthurs Celebrates The Story Of British Rock Guitar
Jack Arthurs will perform a musical introduction to a book talk as part of the Newcastle Winter Book Festival.
He’ll perform tracks from his solo album Only Dreams Are True. In our review, Prog Magazine called him “a substantial presence whose hopeful, optimistic tunes brighten and warm the soul.” His track Missing appears on the covermount CD of our current issue, available now.
His performance will take place before a discussion by Mo Foster about his book British Rock Guitar, his personal account of how the instrument transformed culture over five decades. He draws from his experience playing with Jeff Beck, Brian May, Gerry Rafferty, Van Morrison, Hank Marvin and many others. Marvin has described the work as “The definitive book – a great read.”
The acoustic set takes place at Newcastle’s City Library on November 25. Tickets are now on sale.
