Greg Lake Announces UK Tour
Greg Lake is bringing his Songs Of A Lifetime tour to the UK. And he’s also announced the launch of his autobiography.
Already successful in America, the dates over here are in November: Pocklington Arts Centre 12/13, Edinburgh Queens Hall 15, Glasgow Lomond Auditorium 17, Newcastle Mill Volvo Tyne Theatre 18, Birmingham Alexandra Theatre 19, Liverpool Philharmonic 20, Cambridge Corn Exchange 22, Guildford G Live 23, Southampton Guildhall 24, London Shepherd’s Bush O2 Empire 25.
Lake’s set will feature songs from his solo albums, Emerson, Lake & Palmer and King Crimson among others. He also tells stories from his extensive career, and encourages the audience to participate. Says Lake
“The concept of performing an intimate and autobiographical show presents a huge challenge. The evolution of the experience is so invigorating it still gives me a thrill every time I think about it. The task is to develop an event that is memorable and unique, unexpected and impactful. I want to defy expectations and defy what people expect when they hear the words ‘one man show’. I am pleased to say that we have been successful in stepping up to that challenge to create an experiential show that is as much an event as it is a performance.”
There are special VIP packages available for every gig. These include sound check entry, post-show meet and greets and photo opportunities with Lake, plus signed merchandise. You can get these at www.greglake.com.
Lake will have the first audio volume of his autobiography, Lucky Man, on sale during the tour. Lucky Man is slated to be a three-volume audio book, narrated by the man himself, with a print version also due before the end of the year. Plus, new editions of both his solo albums and DVDs are expected to be exclusively available at the shows.
