And the US instrumental outfit – once described as a blend of Pink Floyd, King Crimson and The Grateful Dead – promise the record features “Mellotrons, Minimoogs, melodies and more.” Hear a sample trailer below.
Multi-instrumentalist Gayle Ellett says: “We wanted to create a melodic album with a classic sound. Most of us were born around 1960 so the 1970s was the decade of our youth.
“The music of that time and its values were pivotal in the development of our views on how music should sound – fusion, psychedelia, southern rock and other styles were popular. We’re not trying to recreate that era, but we are inspired by it.”
Regenerator 3017 doesn’t feature bassist Aaron Kenyon but the other five original members are present: Ellett plus fellow multi-instrumentalists Mike Henderson and Henry J Osborne, guitarist MG Murray and drummer Chuck Oken.
The album is released on Februaryr 25 via HC Productions. Find out more.
