Dec Burke Band Live In London This Friday
The Dec Burke Band are to play The Unicorn in London on Friday, October 5. The show is promoted by The House Of Progression in association with Prog. As with all gigs at The Unicorn, entry is free.
The band’s set will be a special one, based around the 2011 album Paradigms & Storylines.
“We’re doing most of the songs in full from that record,” says Burke. “And there will also be sections included from all the other tunes as well. So effectively we’re covering the entire album, in one form or another. There will also be three or four songs from the 2010 album Destroy All Monsters. In all, we’re playing for about 90 minutes.”
Burke is also contemplating performing one new song on the night.
“That’s not definite as yet. We have rehearsed this, but it keeps changing, so we’re not sure if it is the right time to introduce the track live.”
Support comes from the highly rated Herkz.
This will be the last chance to see the Dec Burke Band onstage in London this year. Away from the live scene, the plan is to have something new ready to give away on their website (www.decburke.com) in the next couple of months.
“We’ve been working with Simon Andersson, who used to be with Pain Of Salvation. He’s remixed a few tracks, and we’ll collaborate with him on music that we’ll make available for free through the website. Then we aim to start recording the new album with producer Paddy Darlington in February or March, for release in the summer.”
