Coheed And Cambria Unveil Record Store Day Demos Vinyl Album
Coheed and Cambria will release a limited edition demo album based on recent record The Afterman: Ascension.
It’s one of the special offers being made available to those who support independent music shops during the Black Friday edition of Record Store Day on November 23.
Mainman Claudio Sanchez – who recently said his song subjects are far more accessible than his Amory Wars story arc might suggest – has assembled a clear vinyl album featuring eight tracks in their early form. The record is covered with the rough sketch that later became Ascension’s sleeve art.
The Afterman: Ascension // Big Beige Demos follows the October 9 release of the finished version. Part two of the story, The Afterman: Descension, is due for release in January.
Black Friday is one of the US’ biggest shopping days, taking place the day after Thanksgiving and kicking off the Christmas retail season. Further limited-edition products will be on sale from artists including David Bowie, Captain Beefheart, Leonard Cohen, the Grateful Dead, Bert Jansch, Primus and Frank Zappa.
