Blue Mammoth Win Prog Unsigned Competition
Brazilian quartet Blue Mammoth have won the recent Prog Unsigned competition which ran on this website for the past month. Their track Growing was adjudged the best track on offer.
They were one of nine bands from around the world readers and site users could listen to either with the free CD that subscribers received or via the Spotlight player we set up on the site. In the end the Brazlians walked away with the honours, amassing far more votes than everyone else.
“We from Blue Mammoth band are very grateful for the support we received from so many people,” say the band. “It would not have been possible to achieve this result without the support of bloggers, our webmaster and online discussion boards people linked to progressive rock that went into the campaign publicizing and supporting our group, and of course, all the fans in Brazil and around the world that voted for us in the poll. Thank you friends! We would like to congratulate the other eight bands carefully selected for the collection that proves the high quality of the current progressive rock, as well as Prog Magazine for the courage to open space to new talent.”
You can read more about Blue Mammoth in issue 36 of Prog magazine, which goes on sale on May 29. Or you can check them out at their own website here.
A new Prog Unsigned competition will be announced on this website shortly.
